Powdered metal bushings
Powdered metal bushings are available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes and are considered "plane bearings" , which have no rolling elements. After forming, sintering, and sizing, this material is impregnated with SAE 30 oil, making these bushings self -lubricating. Among the most common variety of these products include:
- SAE841 -This material offers standard, off-the-shelf availability of straight bushings, flanged bushings, thrust washers, and bar stock to fit shaft diameters from 1/8" to 5".
- SAE863 -This product includes a high iron content, allowing for 50% greater PSI capacity than SAE841 material
