U Joints:

A U Joint, or universal joint, is a flexible coupling that can rotate in any direction, and is commonly used in shafts that transmit rotary motion. U Joints consists of a pair of hinges located close together, oriented at 90° to each other, connected by a cross shaft.

U joints are available from a variety of manufacturers in numerous styles and configurations.  Popular U Joints styles include pin and block and needle bearing types.  U Joints are used in numerous industries, commonly found in automotive, agricultural and machine tool applications.
