Anaerobics

Anaerobics

Anaerobic means without air. By definition, anaerobic adhesives remain liquid until deprived of oxygen in the presence of metal ions, such as iron or copper, therefore they have excellent bonding capabilities. When an anaerobic adhesive is sealed it rapidly hardens to form a plastic that bonds to many metals. Anaerobic adhesives are often referred to as thread lockers because they are commonly utilized in industry on nuts and bolts to form high strength bonds.

Anaerobic applications differ widely; some require permanent bonding strength, while others may need to be removable. Anaerobics are available for a wide array of temperatures and conditions depending on the application.
